Originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Bruce and Betty Anne Tripke had always considered Florida their second home. Not only did they make the trip down south several times each year to vacation or visit family, but they even chose Florida as their honeymoon destination as newlyweds.
When the opportunity came to acquire the Sea Star Motel in 2000, Bruce and Betty Anne jumped at the chance to never spend another freezing, cold winter up North. With Bruce's 30-plus years of business management experience and Betty Anne's natural affinity as a host and creative eye, taking over the Sea Star was the perfect move. Plus, it didn't hurt that the motel was just yards away from one of the most beautiful beaches on the Gulf Coast.
For the Tripkes, the best part of running the Sea Star is the opportunity to meet and befriend people from around the world. Visitors to the motel come from Germany, Sweden, Thailand, Canada and all over the U.S. - including Florida locals - and more often than not, they end up coming back again and again. Bruce and Betty Anne have established a reputation where each guest is treated like a family member, and it's not unusual to stumble upon a birthday or holiday celebration in the courtyard.
Bruce and Betty Anne look forward to welcoming you to the Sea Star Motel & Apartments!
